I have never done yoga before, does this matter?
Absolutely not, teachers work with your body and your capacity to move, teachers focus more on how it feels, rather than how it looks, providing you with many modifications to enhance your practice.
Can I do this course if I am not already a yoga teacher (RYT-200)?
Yes. This course is suitable for any movement teacher or enthusiast (yoga, fitness, pilates, dance etc). It is also suitable for anyone with a regular yoga practice who wants to deepen their knowledge and experience of yin yoga and yoga nidra.
Can I join in as a guest retreat, instead as a yoga teacher training course?
This course is a 100hr yin and nidra yoga teacher training. It is possible to book this training as a guest retreat. Schedule for guest retreat will be same with the possibility to attend the class you prefer. You will be able to attend the daily meditation, yang, yin yoga and nidra classes. Lectures and training specific sessions would be entirely optional.

Will I be able to teach yin yoga or nidra after doing this course?
This course will give you the practical skills and tools to guide yin yoga & yoga nidra classes as well as deepen your own practice. To be able to teach yin yoga or yoga nidra classes publicly you will need a yoga or fitness qualification as well as relevant insurances and first aid certs. You will receive a Certificate of Completion at the end of the training.
When do I need to make full payment?
Payment must be completed 3 months before the commencement of the retreat.
Is this course recognised by the Yoga Alliance?
Yes! This 100-hour teacher training is registered for Continuing Education hours (YACEP) with Yoga Alliance which means if you are an RYT member of the Yoga Alliance, you can use these hours to contribute to your Continuing Education requirements.
How many students are on the course?
We have limited the training to a maximum of 16 participants to ensure adequate time for practice and mentoring.
How do I sign up for the course?
Secure your spot on the course with a $300 deposit non-refundable. To sign up, complete booking form on the website or email us and we will be in touch to confirm your reservation.
Can I bring my partner / friend (who doesn't do yoga)?
Yes. We can cater for students who wish to bring a companion regardless of whether they wish to participate in any classes, activities or training.

What about travel insurance?
I know nothing will go wrong? But just in case! Travel Insurance for all our international retreats/trainings are compulsory and must be sent through to us in order to participate on the retreat. Its a good idea to purchase your travel insurance when your purchase your plane flight. You can choose to pay a little extra to opt in for the 'no excess' option and also make sure your cover has 'unlimited cancellation' or 'cancel for no reason', if the unexpected happens and plans change on our end or yours, you've got unlimited cover for cancellation fees or lost deposits.

Can you cater for my dietary requirements?
Yes. We can cater for most dietary requirements. Please inform us of your requirements in advance.
What equipment will I need to bring?
You are welcome to bring your favourite travel yoga mat with you however, mats, bolsters and other props will be provided. Bring a pen, pencil and notebook. You will be given your training manual and welcome pack on arrival. Be sure to pack light, cool and comfortable clothing for yoga practice. You may want a light jacket, jumper or scarf for the cooler early mornings or in airconditioned areas. Bring your swimsuit and comfortable walking shoes if you plan to hike. Sunscreen and insect repellent are recommended too. Please arrive with a beginner's mind and an open heart.
Help! What should I pack!?
The climate in Thailand is hot and humid. The weather in Khanom in June is very warm with a gentle breeze, with average highs of 30°C and lows of 26°C
Laundry service can be arranged at the resort.
Suggested packing:
2-4 outfits for yoga, bathers x2, hat, comfortable clothing for dinner/evenings, sneakers, sandals, light jumper, sunscreen, mosquito repellent, day pack for adventures, sunglasses, book and some small notes in local currency for snacks, extra activities and taxis.
What about spending money?
Please note, there are no ATMs in the local area, so you may wish to have some Indonesian currency with you to pay for local transport, tips, items at the village shop, massages etc. Any extra costs incurred at the retreat (premium drinks or additional excursions) can be paid for by credit or debit card on site. All meals and course activities are already included in the course cost.
I'm tired! Do I have to do it all?
This is your training/retreat, we hope for you to get everything out of it that you hoped and more! We have scheduled long brunches so that you can rest, swim or explore after lunch. There will be a half-day off from training to give you the opportunity to experience all the AAVA Resort and Khanom lifestyle has to offer including optional activities, excursions or relaxation. All other activities and classes are also at your discretion. 100% attendance is required for the certificate of completion, unless authorised from your teacher.

What time does the training start and finish?
We would like all participants to arrive from 1pm on the 5th June (if you aren't arriving early). We will finish the official training/retreat by 11am on the 10th June.
How do I get there?
Airport transfers from following airports are included in the training/retreat price

We will arrange transport for you to and from the airport if you provide us with your flight number and arrival date and time via email. Outside these two airports mentioned above, you are responsible for your own airport-hotel transfer costs.
